''Wiley Post'' and ''Harold Gatty'' both sign the title page of this first edition of their book ''Around the World in 8 Days,'' published by Rand McNally & Co.: New York: 1931. Post, the pilot of the Winnie Mae, and his navigator Gatty chronicle the 1931 circumnavigational flight in which they broke Hugo Eckener's record for speed. Runs 304pp. plus a section in the back replicating the team's log book created during the journey. Just a few years later, Post died when he crashed the plane he was flying with Will Rogers in 1935. Measures 6.25'' x 8.75''. Bound in light green cloth boards with green lettering and world maps as endpapers. Sunning to backstrip with a tear to the top edge of the spine. Very good.
