Dwight Eisenhower signs ''Ike'' in black ink to a letter typed on his personal gilt-monogrammed stationery dated 2 January 1962 to his brother: ''...I had written...that I could not play in [the golf tournament]. The reason is simply that this area is abundantly supplied with tournaments of one kind or another, and if I started playing in any one I would set up a precedent that would be hard to explain to others of my friends in this area...'' Measures 7'' x 10.25''. Standard folds and punch holes, else near fine.
