Official Mexican document awarded to a General at the Alamo. Document, signed by several Mexican officials, awards the ''badge of honor'' to a Miguel Andrade who fought at the historic showdown. The partially-printed document bears the blind embossing of the Secretary of State as well as several stamps of the Mexican government. It translates in part, ''...Brigade General D. Miguel Andrade attended the first mission held against rebels of Tejar [Texan] settlers in the year 1836'' and ''is granted the badge of honor that marked the August 28, 1840 decree...'' 3pp. card-style document is dated 1864 and signed throughout by several Mexican officials. Measures 8.5'' x 12.75''. Single fold and minor chipping, else near fine.
