Laura Ingalls Wilder autograph letter signed, dated 4 January 1951 from Mansfield, Missouri. The ''Little House'' author writes in full, ''Thank you for your very kind letter. I am glad you like my books. They were all written after I had been married many years as you will see if you notice date of publication. The first in 1932. / I am now 84 years old in February and the only one of my family living. / Our only child, Rose Wilder Lane, lives in Connecticut. / Carrie and Grace married but left no children. / Please give your pupils my love and tell them I think little schools are best. / With kindest regards / yours sincerely / Laura Ingalls Wilder''. Letter measures 5'' x 8''. Folds and light toning, overall very good condition. With original mailing envelope, signed in the address panel.
