This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 5/25/2023
Retained copy of the letter to James Dean from his agent Jane Deacy, dated 27 September 1954 shortly after ''East of Eden'' wrapped. Deacy covers a range of topics, including Dean's newly bought motorcycle and stalling a producer as they wait to hear from Warner Bros. (regarding whether it would exercise its option on a second film for Dean, which it did with ''Rebel Without a Cause''). She then broaches the topic of psychoanalysis, writing, ''I do hope that the analyst you are going to is a good one and that you thoroughly investigated him before going. I wish you would write and tell me who he is and how you happened to go to him. I'm not prying into your personal business, just interested. / Love, / Jane Deacy''. Single page measures 8.5'' x 11''. Light wear, else near fine. From the estate of James Dean's agent, Jane Deacy.
