James Madison signed land grant as President, dated 10 October 1812. Madison authorizes land near Cincinnati to be sold to a John Anderson. At this time, the U.S. was embroiled in the War of 1812, and the White House would be set aflame less than a year after this signing. Vellum document measures 14.75'' x 9'', with intact paper seal and James Madison's name printed at top. Madison's signature at bottom right is bold. Some spotting to upper left, folds and creasing; overall very good condition.
