James Madison land grant signed as President. Dated 10 January 1814, Madison grants land according to the Land Act of 1790, which awarded land to Revolutionary War soldiers. Countersigned by Ohio politician Edward Tiffin. Visible portion of vellum document measures 11.875'' x 16.325'', with red wax-based paper seal at left. Folds, and minor fading to writing. Overall very good condition. Nicely matted and framed to a size of 16.75'' x 21.25''.
