First Newell illustrated edition of ''Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'' by Lewis Carroll, with illustrations by Peter Newell and page border artwork by Robert Murray Wright. New York: Harper & Bros., 1901. Whimsical illustrations populate the book, bound in original publisher's paper boards with gilt titling and a portrait of Alice stamped in gilt to front. Top edge gilt, and tissued frontispiece portrait of Carroll. Measures 6'' x 9''. Some soiling to boards with sunned spine, detached frontispiece and separation just starting to joints. Overall good to very good condition.
