Golden Globe awarded in 1970 to Flip Wilson in the category of ''Best Television Actor - Musical or Comedy'' for his groundbreaking show, ''The Flip Wilson Show''. Not only was Wilson's popular show the second highest rated TV program at the time, but it also - for the time time in American television - bridged black and white audiences when featuring a black host.
Wilson's Golden Globe has an engraved plaque mounted to the marble pedestal reading, ''Flip Wilson / Best Television Actor in a Musical or Comedy Show / 'The Flip Wilson Show' / 1970 / Hollywood Foreign Press Association'' with serial number 3181. Statue measures 8.75'' tall on a 3.125'' x 3'' base. Statue would benefit from polish to remove oxidation to gilt finish. A few very small chips to marble, overall in very good condition. Accompanied by Wilson's Golden Globe nomination.
