George W. Bush signed ''Mission Accomplished'' souvenir speech, delivered on 5 June 2003 to service men and women fighting in the Second Iraq War. At this point, major combat operations had ceased in Iraq and Saddam Hussein had been ousted from power thought not yet captured.
Speech reads in part, ''...America sent you on a mission to remove a grave threat and to liberate an oppressed people, and that mission has been accomplished...We are in a war on global terror, and because of you, we're winning the war on global terror...We have made it clear that we'll hunt the terrorists down. There's no place they can hide from the justice of the United States of America and our friends...[signed] George Bush''.
Speech is printed on two sheets, the first on commemorative letterhead. Each measures 5.125'' x 8.25''. Near fine condition, with a bold black felt-tip signature by President Bush. With Beckett COA.
