Prime-Time Emmy awarded to George C. Scott for Best Actor in ''The Price'', the 1971 film based on Arthur Miller's play. Scott won in the category of ''Outstanding Single Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role''. Interestingly, Scott accepted this Emmy after refusing the Academy Award he received for ''Patton'' a year earlier in 1970. Emmy features the iconic winged woman holding an atom, standing on the convex, grid-lined surface of a round metal base, plated in 18k gold. Flat perimeter of base reads: ''THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES''. Plaque is engraved with 5 lines naming the award, its category and recipient: ''1970-1971 TELEVISION ACADEMY AWARDS / Outstanding Single Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role / GEORGE C. SCOTT / The Price-Hallmark Hall of Fame / February 3, 1971 - NBC''. Emmy measures 15'' in total height with 7.5'' diameter base, and weighs 5 lbs., 13 oz. Light rubbing to figure and some wear to band, overall very good condition.
