Franklin D. Roosevelt autograph letter signed, dated 27 June from ''Marion'', likely Marion, Massachusetts where FDR would set sail to one of his favorite summer getaways, Campobello Island in Canada. Written on his stationery from the ''Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland'', along with its content, likely dates the letter to 1926, when FDR''s Warm Springs Institute was just getting off the ground. Roosevelt writes to Helena Mahoney, his personal physical therapist and also the head therapist at Warm Springs. Letter reads in full, ''Dear Miss Mahony - I am so glad that things seem to be working out so well & now we must pray for more patients so as to prove to the Doctors that we really have something! / I enclose your expense account cheque for $35 uniforms and $65 travelling. / I can hardly wait to get down there July 14 - / Sincerely / Franklin D Roosevelt''. Single page letter measures 7.25'' x 10.5''. Folds, else near fine.
