Uniquely signed copy of ''The Willowdale Handcar'', signed by both Edward Gorey as the author-illustrator, and Lillian Gish, the silent film star to whom Gorey dedicates the book. New York: Dodd, Mead & Co., 1979 second edition published as a hardcover rather than the paperback first edition. Gorey signs on the title page, crossing out his printed name and signing below it; Gish signs on the dedication page beneath her printed name, inscribing the copy to a Judi McMahon on 15 March 1984. Housed in original dust jacket with $5.95 price intact. Book measures 6'' x 6.375'', bound in illustrated pale pink and black boards, matching the jacket. Light shelf wear with small abrasion at foot of spine, overall in very good to near fine condition.
