Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor's very own silver jubilee medal. Silver medallion features a bust of Queen Elizabeth II in profile, commemorating the 25th year of her reign on 6 February 1977. Coin is mounted to a decorated loop, suspended from a white grosgrain ribbon with red and blue striping. Measures 1.25'' in diameter. Some tarnishing, but near fine overall. Housed in a fitted case with silver gilt lettering to the lid and Royal Mint stamp inside. Accompanied by document on Buckingham Palace letterhead, signifying that the medal is for The Duchess of Windsor, ''to be worn in commemoration of Her Majesty's Silver Jubilee''. Provenance from Sotheby's 1987 auction.
