Large Chinese flag made of silk brocade, displaying a Manchu character in red silk. Flag was de-accessioned from the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, which dates the flag to the turn of the 20th century from Peking, likely captured by an American soldier during the Boxer Rebellion. Large triangular flag measures 71'' high x 105'' long, with red silk Manchu character sewn on both sides, and with red cotton hoist sewn. Moderate soiling, with some fraying and color offsetting from the red silk. Overall in good condition, as expected with field use.
