Charles George Gordon autograph letter signed, written from Dufile on the border of South Sudan and Uganda, on 12 February 1876. In this letter, Gordon describes the campaign for dominance in Bunyoro, headed by slaveholder Kaba Rega. Written to Giegler (Pasha of Khartoum), letter reads in part, ''Thanks for your letter 5 Dec received today. Agadh [possibly Nuehr Agha] must wait till Khedive answers my proposal. Dr. Schuntze[?] has no chance...I hope to be out of this post before May myself. I have just come down from Mrooli, no resistance, & Kaba Rega has fled. I have sent troops to Masindi and Anfina will take Kaba Rega's place. Here the steamer is well on, two life boats...[?] till the troops are supplied. Gessi [Pasha] will have[?] killed 7 elephants in one day. The up country is of possible course [rather] than the down country, marshes and swamps. Ibrahim is a splendid fellow.
