Bernard Krigstein ink and watercolor illustration from 1957 for the cover of the 1958 paperback edition of ''The Horse's Mouth'' by Joyce Cary, published by Grosset and Dunlap. Signed ''B. Krigstein'' at center right. This illustration wasn't used for the book's cover, but another Krigstein illustration was chosen. Artwork measures 5.5'' x 8'' on board measuring 9'' x 10''. Chip to edge of board, though illustration is near fine.
