Andrew Jackson autograph letter signed, handwritten to his friend and business partner John C. McLemore. Jackson refers to his other close friend, John Coffee, in the letter, with mention that Coffee would be in Nashville on important ''publick business'', likely dating the letter to 1813 when Coffee commanded troops in Nashville under Jackson during the War of 1812.
Letter reads in full, ''My dear Sir / I enclose to you a letter to Genl [John] Coffee expecting he may be in Nashville with a request of these, you will cause it to be delivered to him - if not these, [?] it is on publick business, get Col. [John] Armstrong to send it on to him, it is of importance to the General that he should receive it soon. With my best wishes to your family & friends, yours sincerely / Andrew Jackson / Mr. John C. McLemore''. Single page letter measures 7.875'' x 9.625''. Remnants of wax seal on right side, and addressee's name also on verso. Folds, with a few small areas of paper loss. Overall in very good plus condition with bold writing and signature by Jackson.
