Agatha Christie signed first edition, first printing of ''The ABC Murders'' with a delightfully clever handwritten poem, incorporating the title of the book. London: Collins Crime Club, 1936. Without personal inscription, Christie pens upon the front free endpaper, in full: ''Once again a tale's submitted / To a critic who's most fitted / To acclaim 'This seems to me / Just as plain as A.B.C.' / A.C.'' Christie rarely wrote lengthy dedications in her books, making this copy exceptionally rare. Bound in orange-red boards with black lettering, book measures 5'' x 7.5''. Some soiling to boards, cocking, and sunning to spine. Toning to endpapers, light foxing, and some dampstaining to spine. Overall in good plus condition.
