Deluxe limited first edition of George Gershwin's masterpiece ''Porgy and Bess'', signed by George Gershwin, Ira Gershwin, DuBose Heyward and Rouben Mamoulian. New York: Random House, 1935, published the same year as its Broadway debut. Copy is number 187 of 250 in the limited edition, boldly signed in fountain pen by the composer George Gershwin, the librettist, lyricist and novelist DuBose Heyward, the lyricist Ira Gershwin, and the Broadway director Rouben Mamoulian. This piano-vocal score (no orchestral score has ever been published) is handsomely bound in publisher's original full red morocco, with raised bands and top edge gilt. Measures 9.625'' x 12.625''. Some scuffing to boards with spine labels partially gone, and front and rear joints starting. Interior pages are clean including limitation page found in rear. Overall in good to very good condition.
