21 July 1969 issue of ''The New York Times'' from the day Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made human history as the first to walk on the moon. The late city edition announces the Eagle has landed in the Sea of Tranquility region, allowing the Apollo 11 astronauts to explore the lunar ''powdery surface'' on foot and collect samples. The famous planting of the flag is announced as well. Front section runs 18pp. and ''Special Supplement'' section entitled ''Apollo 11 Man and the Moon'' runs 20pp. Toning and very mild dampstaining, overall very good plus condition.
