Crossbow used onscreen in 1948's ''Joan of Arc.'' The timeless biopic about the 15th century French war heroine was directed by Victor Fleming and starred Ingrid Bergman. This crossbow was used in the battle scene in which Bergman as Joan is struck in the arm by an arrow. The picture was nominated for 8 Academy Awards.
