''Chicago Daily Tribune'' newspaper dated 3 November 1948 exclaiming ''DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN'', the most famous newspaper faux-pas of the 20th century. The Tribune so quickly rushed its printing that some of the type on the second page is even printed upside down. Most of the issues were taken off the stands when the Tribune realized its error, and only 2,000 were estimated to have reached private hands. Home edition comprises the entire first section. Measures 16.75'' x 23.75''. Uniform toning, closed tear extending almost to middle of front page, chipping along fold, and tape repair to bottom half. Fair to good condition, with no substantial paper loss.
