Original screenplay for the 1957 film, ''A Farewell to Arms'' based on Ernest Hemingway's famous WWI novel. The 1957 film was the second film version of the novel and the screenplay was written by Ben Hecht, aka the ''Shakespeare of Hollywood.'' The film became the last to be produced by famed Hollywood fixture David O. Selznick and starred Rock Hudson and Jennifer Jones. Script has a 22 October 1956 stamp as well as various handwritten script edits and notations in an unknown hand. Bound in yellow paper covers with ''The Selznick Studio'' logo on the front cover. Runs 191pp. Measures 9'' x 11.25''. Ink notations, soiling, creasing and tears to cover, cocking to spine, else near fine.
