Harper Lee autograph letter signed, dated 20 February 1995, from Monroeville, Alabama. Letter is written to longtime correspondent Don Salter. Letter, written in thick black marker, reads in full: ''Dear Mr. Salter: I apologize for being so loud on the page, but this is my only working pen this morning. Again, thank you for the book! I had read & enjoyed it some years ago, but am very glad to have a signed copy. As always, you are so kind to think of me. If you are of a mind to, please hold a print until I'm home again next fall. I'd be delighted with whatever one you choose, and of course will want to pay for it. Please permit me to do so! Sincerely, Harper Lee''. One page letter, measuring 8.5'' x 11'', has four folds from mailing. Includes original envelope with addresses in Lee's hand. Near fine.
