The most famous image from the Apollo era - titled ''Earthrise'' - signed by William Anders, the astronaut who took the photo. Earthrise showed, for the first time, an image of Earth from the vantage point of the moon, obtained in 1968 by Anders as Lunar Module Pilot of Apollo 8, the first NASA mission to reach the moon. Earthrise photos signed by Anders are quite rare. He signs here in black felt-tip, ''To Hassein Awad with high regards & best wishes / Bill Anders / Apollo 8 / GE-AED 9-81''.
