Autograph letter signed by a prisoner in the Auschwitz concentration camp, dated 30 April 1944. On Auschwitz stationery, German letter is composed by prisoner Galicyna Monika, born 15 April 1905 and with prisoner number 6814. Monika writes in pencil, sending endearments to his family and also thanking them for sending provisions. On the front of the postcard, the rules of the camp are printed in German; these rules read in full:

''1. Each person in protective custody is allowed to receive two letters or two postcards from their family or to send the same number of mail pieces to them. Letters to the prisoners will have to be legible, written in ink, one-sided, and written in German. Only normal size writing paper is permitted. Envelopes must be unlined. Only 5 German Reichspost postage stamps valued at 12 Pfennig may be enclosed in a letter. Anything else is prohibited and subject to confiscation. Photographs may not be used as postcards.

2. Money may only be sent via postal order. It is important to make sure that all remittances and mail pieces carry the correct address, consisting of name, date of birth, and prisoner number. A faulty address will cause mail pieces to be returned to the sender or be destroyed.

3. Newspapers are permitted, but they must be ordered via the Concentration Camp Auschwitz mail room.

4. The prisoners are allowed to receive food packages, however, no liquids or medications are permitted.

5. Petitions to the camp authorities for release from protective custody are futile.

6. Permission to speak with inmates and visits to inmates at the camp are strictly out of the question.''

Bifolium letter measures 5.875'' x 8.25'' as folded. Splitting along folds with small area of paper loss, overall in good condition. Accompanied by full translation.
