Emmy award from 1957, for Engineering and Camera Techniques for the NBC documentary series ''Wide, Wide World''. The long-format documentary running 90 minutes was widely watched every Sunday and lasted 3 seasons, from 1955-1958. Full-size Emmy award shows the iconic winged woman holding an atom standing on the convex, grid-lined surface of a round metal base, plated in 18k gold. Band is engraved with 4 lines naming the award, its category and recipient: ''THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES 1957 AWARDS / Best Engineering or Technical Achievement / ENGINEERING AND CAMERA TECHNIQUES / WIDE, WIDE WORLD - NBC''. Measures 15'' in total height with 7.5'' diameter base and weighs 4 lbs., 11.5 oz. Some flaking of gold on statue, but overall in very good condition. A rare, early Emmy.
