Golden Globe awarded to the writer of ''Bright Victory'' in 1951. Trophy is engraved, ''To Robert Buckner / For The / Best Screenplay / of 1951 / 'Bright Victory' / The Hollywood / Foreign Correspondents / Association''. Award was presented at the 1951 ceremony at Ciro's nightclub in West Hollywood. The film centers on a man blinded in WWII as he adjusts to life and love post-war. Statue is composed of a metal sculpture of a globe encircled by a film strip upon a grey marble pedestal. The letters ''HFPA'' appear in the metal design beneath the globe. Measures 8.5'' in height. Square base measures 3.25'' x 3.25'' at the bottom, while pedestal itself measures 2'' x 2''. Weighs 2 pounds, 8 ounces. Tarnishing, chip to metal on the bottom of the statue and chipping to base corners. In good condition. A spectacular piece of Hollywood history.
