Signed by Grant as Acting Assistant Quarter Master of the 4th U.S. Infantry, ''US Grant''. Invoice is dated three weeks before Grant distinguished himself at the Battle of Monterrey where he rode horseback through a gauntlet of snipers, hanging off the side of his horse to avoid being hit. Invoice measures 8'' x 5''. Fold and light creasing, else near fine.
