Gold medal from the 1998 UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Cup Winners' Cup, won by Chelsea midfielder Eddie Newton. Newton totaled 165 appearances for Chelsea from 1990-99, famously scoring a crucial goal in the 1997 FA Cup Final. Chelsea defeated Stuttgart 1-0 in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup Final match held in Stockholm, Sweden on 13 May 1998. Medal features logo with image of the Cup Winners' Cup trophy on one side, and ''UEFA / Cup Winners' Cup / 98'' written to reverse. Medal suspends from a red, blue and yellow ribbon. Measures 2'' in diameter. Weighs 2 ounces, or 59 grams. Minute scratching and wear, near fine.
