Tennis trophy won by May Sutton and Harvey Snodgrass as a mixed doubles pair in 1921. Sutton is the historic player who was the first American to win the singles championship at Wimbledon in 1905, again winning the Grand Slam event in 1907. She was also the U.S. Nationals singles winner in 1904 at the young age of 17. Attractive trophy cup with silver-finish is for 2nd prize at the ''So. Cal. Midwinter Tennis Championship'' from 1921 in Mixed Doubles, ''Won by / May Sutton Bundy / and / Harvey Snodgrass''. Measures 4.5'' high and 3.75'' wide. Some tarnishing and slight bend at base, overall very good condition.
