United States flag flown in space aboard Columbia STS-1, NASA's first Space Shuttle mission. Flag measures 5.75'' x 4'' and comes affixed to official NASA certificate featuring color photos of Columbia, mission insignia and a printed dedication to NASA engineer Donald E. Holkan which begins: ''This flag was flown aboard Space Shuttle 'Columbia' (STS-1) April 12-14, 1981.'' Measures 8.5'' x 11'' overall. Expected show-through from adhesive to flag, else near fine condition.
