Beloved writer Somerset Maugham typed letter signed on 20 June 1963, written on stationery from the French suites La Villa Mauresque. Maugham writes to a Mr. Nelson, mentioning his friend and fellow writer, Augustus Hare: ''I don't know when I shall be in London again, but please telephone me at The Dorchester when you are there, and if our visits coincide then I shall be very glad to see you and tell you what I know of Augustus Hare. Yours sincerely, [signed] W.S. Maugham''. Measures 5.25'' x 8''. Minor tear on right edge fold and light creasing. Very good condition.
