Hollywood costume designer Edith Head pencil and watercolor sketch signed, from the 1964 film ''What A Way To Go!'' starring Paul Newman and Shirley MacLaine. Here, MacLaine's character, Louisa May Foster, is depicted in an intricate jewel-accented purple cocktail dress and purple opera-length gloves. Boldly signed ''Edith Head'' at lower left with an ''Art Exhibit'' pencil notation in Head's hand at top right. Sketch on thick watercolor paper measures 14'' x 16.75'' with two staple holes at top left. Near fine.
