Nine pieces of White House china, all made for use aboard the Ferdinand Magellan Presidential Train, then AF1 before the President was transported by plane. Set spans the Roosevelt, Truman and Eisenhower administrations, made by Syracuse China in a modified version of the classic Wilson pattern originated by Lenox in 1918. A timeless design, ivory china features an alternating star and 3-bar design on the rim and a gilt presidential eagle. The eagle differs from the Lenox version with a solid gilt emblem over its head containing 13 embossed stars representing the 13 original colonies. Undersides bears the stamp of ''Old Ivory / Syracuse China / OPCO / Made in America''. Set includes (1) Salad plate measuring 8'' in diameter; (2) Entree plate measuring 9'' in diameter; (3) Dinner plate measuring 10.25'' in diameter; (4-5) Bouillon cup and saucer measuring 6.5'' in diameter and 2.5'' tall; (6-7) Ramekin bowl and saucer measuring 6'' in diameter and 1.5'' tall; (8-9) After-dinner coffee up and saucer measuring 4.25'' in diameter and 2.75'' tall. All pieces were stored in the Air Force One hangar and not used. Small scratch to ramekin bowl and small nick to the plates, overall a well preserved set in very good to near fine condition.
