Gemini 2 flown heat shield plug, successfully used in the 1965 mission; interestingly, one of the objectives of Gemini 2 was to test the functionality of the spacecraft's heat shield. Triangular-shaped plug measures approximately 2'' x 1.5'' x 1.25'' tall, housed in vintage acrylic measuring 2.875'' in diameter and 2'' tall, and then mounted on a wooden base measuring 4.5'' square. A metal plaque on the base reads, ''GT-2 / Jan. 19, 1965''. With green felt on bottom of base. Slight yellowing to acrylic and light wear to base, overall very good. Scarce.
