King Edward VIII military appointment signed during his short reign lasting less than one year. Dated 21 January 1936, document appoints John Constant as Second Lieutenant in the Land Forces of the United Kingdom. Signed at upper left, ''Edward RI / Col in Chief''. Document measures 15.75'' x 12''. With paper seal at upper left, partially covering ''Col''. Mounted to paper backing. Discoloration along right side, toning and some creasing, overall in good condition. Since Edward reigned for less than a year before his abdication, signed documents by him as King are quite rare.
