Hayes explains the briefness of his note by saying: '...I have just returned after an absence of a week, and have written hurriedly...'' He signs: ''Sincerely / R.B.Hayes''. Single page letter on card style stationery measures 5.5'' x 8.5''. Minor toning and creasing, else near fine.
