Rutherford B. Hayes check signed and made out in his hand to ''J.B. Thayer on order'' in the amount of $50. Check is drawn on a Fremont, Ohio bank where Hayes lived post-presidency when this check was written on 9 November 1882. Check measures 8.25'' x 3.25'', framed in wood burl with a large photo of Hayes to an overall size of 15.25'' x 22''. Discreet cancellation cut and folds, otherwise near fine.
