Autograph postcard signed by Rudolf Hess, one of the leading figures in Nazi Germany during World War II. Here, as an infantryman during World War I, Hess writes to a woman named Thea Krahl on 31 December 1914, referencing the famous 1914 Christmas Truce. In German, letter translates, ''I give heartfelt thanks for your long letter...Now that I have more time and things are quieter you can hear from me. The French made a truce for Christmas, though there have been attempted violations and things have not been entirely calm. I send you New Year's greetings. May 1915 bring England its entire and just desserts!! / Heartfelt Greetings / your Rudolf Hess''. Composed in pencil, with Hess hand-addressing the front of the card. Postcard measures 3.75'' x 5.5''. Light wear and spotting, overall in very good condition. With R&R COA.
