O'Neill was the Seal who killed bin Laden in Operation Neptune Spear, writing here: ''...That left two of us to go up the final set of stairs to the third & final floor. Bin Laden's bedroom...There must be [a] suicide bomber, but I'm tired of thinking about it. Let's just get it over with. We went straight through a curtain at the top and he tackled some people. I went right and there was bin Laden. I shot him twice in the head as he was standing and once more for God & Country: Geronimo / 5-2-11 / Robert O'Neill''.
