Robert M.T. Hunter autograph letter signed from Lloyds, Virginia on 11 September 1857 when he served as U.S. Senator from Virginia. Addressed to ''My dear Sir'', Hunter writes to Philip Fendall, reading in part, ''Will you do me the favor to send me a copy of the order which was made in my case? Please inform me whether the decree obtained justifies my paying Dr. Garnett the amount at once...I will also be obliged to you to send me a statement of the costs of the suit including your fee...RMT Hunter''. Single page measures 8'' x 10''. Folds and light discoloration, overall very good.
