Signed with his full name, ''Robert Louis Stevenson'', the author hand writes the check for ''the sum of two pounds five shillings sterling'', drawn on a bank in Bournemouth, the seaside town where he wrote ''Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde'' a few years earlier. Measures 8.25'' x 3.25''. Toning around edge and ink swirl through signature. Overall very good condition. Accompanied by an engraving of Stevenson.
