First edition, first printing of the iconic children's book, ''Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'' by Roald Dahl, in original first printing dust jacket. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1964. Profusely illustrated by Joseph Schindelman, with all first printing points present: six-line colophon on last page, mustard yellow endpapers and top edge brown, Oompa-Loompas are black and African, not orange or white. Housed in the original first printing dust jacket with price of $3.95, and with no ISBN number on the rear panel as called for. Minor creasing to jacket, but in unusually very good to near fine condition. Mild shelf wear and a few spots of discoloration to interior, otherwise book is in near fine condition.
