Preliminary cover art by Joseph Mugnaini for Ray Bradbury's ''Halloween Tree''. Pencil and ink drawing on paper features a chain of figures holding hands in mid-air, similar to the cover art for the 1974 Bantam edition of ''Halloween Tree''. On verso is a sketch of Mugnaini's bridge from his well-known painting ''Carnival''. Accompanied by a handwritten note by Bradbury that reads in full, ''Joe is my seeing eye dog, the great intuitive hound of futures far ahead ruins behind''. Art measures 5.5'' x 7.5''. Note measures 8.5'' x 3.5''. Near fine overall. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate.
