Jules Rimet World Cup trophy. Statue boasts the look of designer Abel Lafleur's original double-sided 1930 model, complete with Nike, the winged Grecian victory goddess, holding a decagonal cup overhead. Gilt painted figure rests upon a black octagonal base. Base sides feature engraved plaques with the title, ''Coupe Du Monde / De / Football / Association / Coupe / Jules Rimet'', and the winners' teams, countries and years through 1970. Solid silver statue with 22 carat gold plating features gold hallmarks and ''Filled'' stamp to the bottom of the figure. Measures 13'' in height. Weighs 5 pounds. With provenance from an antiques dealer who stated this was one of a small number produced for various television studios during World Cup coverage. Near fine condition.
