Primetime Emmy Award statue for the hit Fox primetime television variety show, ''The Tracey Ullman Show.'' Hosted by British stand-up comic Tracey Ullman, the show blended musical acts with sketch comedy, including an episode ''All About Tammy Lee Maggie In Peril,'' about a personal assistant who upstages her country singer boss, for which this Emmy was awarded. The show also debuted ''The Simpsons'' characters in animated shorts. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences bestowed this award in 1989 in the category of ''Outstanding Art Direction For a Variety or Music Program,'' awarded particularly to Art Director Bernie Yeszin. Plaque is engraved: ''Academy of Television Arts & Sciences / 1988-1989 Primetime Emmy Awards / Outstanding Art Direction For a Variety or Music Program / Bernie Yeszin Art Direction/ The Tracey Ullman Show / 'All About Tammy Lee Maggie in Peril - Part 2' / Fox''. Iconic figure of the winged woman holding an atom overhead represents the symbiotic relationship of art and science intrinsic to television. Statue weighs 4 pounds 14 ounces and stands 15.5'' tall. Base diameter measures 7.5''. Black felt underside has an R.S. Owens sticker affixed. Some tarnishing, else near fine.
