Official press release announcing the progress of the acquisitions selected for display in the Kennedy White House as part of the White House Restoration project. Typed press release is dated 2 July 1961 and addressed to the Kennedy vacation home in Hyannisport. Announcement, from the Office of the Assistant Social Secretary for the Press reads in part, ''...Where non-American furnishings have been acquired, it is because they have some connection with American history, or are similar to furnishings used by Presidents in the White House in the past...'' Document goes on to itemize each furnishing and provides the name of each benefactor. Runs 3pp. on 3 sheets measuring 8.5'' x 14''. Stapled to upper left. Very good condition. Originally from the papers of Sally Powers, who served as secretary to White House curator Lorraine Pearce.
