White porcelain box given to participants of the 1936 Winter Olympics, held in the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, Germany. White box has a removable top which contains a raised depiction of the 5-ring symbol of the Olympic Games. To the inside of the box is a carved image of the Munich coat of arms with the date of 10 February below. In Munich on 10 February 1936, a concert was given in honor of the participants at the 1936 Olympics, and this box was presented to each participant. Box was made by the Nymphenburg porcelain company, which has been manufacturing porcelain for Bavarian royalty since the company's founding in 1747; the blue ''Nymphenburg'' porcelain mark is printed to the bottom of the box. Measures 6'' x 3.5'' x 1.25''. Weighs 7.75 oz. Small stains to the bottom right portion and retouching of paint to the underside of the top. Very good.
